Subject areas of RecyclingAKTIV 2023

Building Material Recycling & Demolition

When demolished and refurbished.

In addition to attachments, material transport and handling as well as construction waste recycling are links between the two sectors TiefbauLIVE and RecyclingAKTIV. Here the focus is on the latest machine technologies for all stages of the treatment and recycling of valuable and numerous materials produced during demolition, such as mineral waste, metal and waste wood. Visitors to RATL 2023 were ablte to compare, for example, mobile crushers for cutting and crushing, sorting and screening mineral waste and evaluate the plants for use in their own operations. Construction machinery manufacturers and dealers presented the appropriate carrier equipment such as excavators and wheel loaders as well as the corresponding demolition equipment.

In keeping with this, some shows on the diversity of the different equipment took place in the Attachment Arena.

Wood & Biomass

Live demonstration at the Wood & Biomass action area

When wood is shredded, sorted and transformed.

One focus of our recycling area in 2023 included the processing and utilisation of wood and biomass. What initially looks like waste was processed into a valuable secondary raw material. For example, with the help of shredding machines, practicable wood chips are obtained from waste wood.

In 2023, the 2,500m² special theme area wood & biomass provided the ideal demonstration conditions to give you a closer look at the mobile processing plants.

Scrap and metal

When scrap is processed and metal is crushed.

Numerous manufacturers, dealers and service providers not only exhibited at RATL 2023, but also enthusiastically demonstrated what is possible in the scrap & metal sector. Our exhibitors presented bunker and conveyor systems such as chain conveyors for various areas of application in metal recycling and are therefore able to take into account your specific needs for your own business. In addition, scrap shears, hydraulic magnets or handling excavators were presented and insights into mobile analytics were provided.

A mobile scrap and recycling yard was set up on the 2,000 m² action area Scrap and Metal in 2023, which enabled you to compare machines directly.

Machine from the scrap and metal sector demonstrates its functions.

Subject areas of TiefbauLIVE 2023

Conduit construction

Keytheme, Conduit construction

From earthmoving and trench digging to cable maintenance.

At RATL 2023, manufacturers presented a spectrum of construction machinery on the topics of soil excavation and compaction, underground pipeline construction, material preparation and excavator control. The excavation process of buried supply lines, earthmoving and material preparation or the transport and loading of pipe elements and other construction materials were impressively demonstrated here. Among other things, visitors could look forward to mobile and tracked excavators in various ton classes in combination with attachments such as bucket separators, milling machines, add-on compactors or pipe connectors. The typical work in and around the canal construction site was rounded off by vehicles for transporting materials and machines for excavating mineral building materials, such as suction excavators.

Road construction

When new paths are created and surfaces are renovated.

The road and path construction segment included construction equipment for the typical processes of conventional road construction, from excavation, loading and transport to the creation of a subgrade, asphalt paving and downstream compaction. The portfolio included all types of construction equipment and services for road and path construction, such as feeders, milling machines or equipment for road and carriageway marking. The advantages of digitalised processes in road and path construction were also illustrated.

In the model construction site for road and civil engineering, the machine technology was realistically demonstrated several times a day in perfectly coordinated interaction.

Gardening and landscaping

When soil is moved and green spaces are newly planted.

Quiet, compact and low-emission machines are on the rise here - in 2023 you could discover the diverse range of services and products in the areas of path construction and compaction, excavation and transport, and construction of urban, green and open spaces. In the process, our exhibitors will pave your way to climate neutrality and help you reduce your CO2 emissions. The product portfolio ranged from electrified wheel dumpers and mini-excavators to compaction equipment and fully electrically powered paving machines.

At RATL 2023, you could experience the urban construction site of tomorrow at the electric mobility showcase for compact and landscaping construction, which was initiated together with the Verband Garten-, Landschafts- und Sportplatzbau Baden-Württemberg e.V. (Association for Garden, Landscape and Sports Ground Construction).

OUTDOOR EXHIBITION AREA "Peter-Gross-Bau Areal": upgraded surface

The refurbished surface with drainage system is just one of the benefits that exhibitors in the outdoor exhibition area "Peter-Gross-Bau Areal" can look forward to at the fifth edition of RATL at the Karlsruhe Trade Fair Centre. 12 km of underground construction and 30 km of power cables ensure reliable water and electricity supply, as well as wifi coverage. As RATL prioritises demonstration over presentation, the outdoor exhibition area will continue to give exhibitors who want to demonstrate their products the chance to showcase their machinery live in a trench depth of up to 1.20 m (deeper on request).

INDOOR EXHIBITION AREA

In the indoor exhibition area, we are continuing the layout plan that proved successful in past years. This revolves around a “fast lane” that leads visitors past the indoor stands on their way to the outdoor exhibition area "Peter-Gross-Bau Areal". As a result, the indoor exhibition area remains largely unaffected by the new outdoor structure.
